In Philippians 2:14-15 Paul says that just as stars brightly shine against the dark of night so our lives as Christians shine like light in the spiritual darkness of the world. Ask God to help you shine brightly with His love and joy to those around you by setting a godly example of obedience to Gods Word.

Jeremiah 11:20 tells us that God test our hearts, emotions and thinking powers. When we want to test something we put it under pressure to see, if it will do what it says it will do. We look to see if it will hold up under stress James 1:2-4 says that tests bring out what is in us. In times of trial we become best acquainted with ourselves and with what we are capable of doing. God is not impressed with what we say we will do . He is impressed with what we prove we can do under pressure. Sadly many people do not make it past the testing point , and they go around the same proverbial mountain.

First Corinthians 2:5 teaches us not to put our faith in human wisdom or philosophy but in the power of God. Verse 11 says that no one discerns the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. Since the Holy Spirit knows the secret counsel of God it is a vital necessity for us to know how to hear what He wants us to say to us? The Holy Spirit helps us realize and comprehend and appreciate the gifts of Divine power and blessings that God bestows on us. Human wisdom does not teach us this truth; it comes from the Holy Spirit who gives us the mind of Christ.1 Cor 2:12-16. Ask Him to give you the mind of Christ today.

I believe the secret to being happy is to walk in love and walking in love is impossible unless we allow the Holy Spirit to tenderize our hearts. As God says in Ezekiel 11:19, it is not His will for us to be hard hearted. Much of our sadness, depression and heaviness is linked to our behavior towards other people. Galatians 6:7 says that whatever we sow we will reap i.e. If we sow words or actions that sadden others we will reap sadness. We need to therefore learn how to walk in love with a heart that is open to God and sensitive to the needs of others.
