I’ve often wondered how those big floats in the Tournament of Roses Parade are steered. You can’t see anyone at a steering wheel—how do they do it? Actually, the person steering is in a little compartment deep inside the float, where no one can see him. He can’t see a thing—he has only a seat, a steering wheel and a set of headphones. Up front, in a similar compartment, sits a man with only a microphone, looking through a very small window. When the float needs to turn a little to the left, he tells the man behind him to turn to the left. If they are drifting too far to the right, he tells the other man to make whatever adjustments are necessary. And this is the guy who guides the other as they turn the corners.
How much like that we are, as we move into a New Year! We have no idea what’s ahead of us—we are moving blindly into the next twelve months. We are like the guy at the steering wheel, not being able to see what’s in front of us, but if we listen closely, we will be able to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit telling us to turn here, make an adjustment here, speed up or slow down. The guy steering the float has only one job: to listen and obey. That’s not much different from our own responsibility, as we follow the Holy Spirit. Rocky Henriques But he who listens to me shall live securely and will be at ease from the dread of evil." Proverbs 1:33
To learn courage, you have to know fear. Isaac Stern, the great violinist, observing a nine-year-old playing the violin amazingly well, said, "You can't really tell how an artist will be until the teen years, for that is when fear comes in. Then and only then can you see if the person has courage. You can't learn courage until you know fear." Fear can paralyze us. Finding the courage to overcome it is a real key to successful living. One day, Jesus' disciples were caught at sea in a storm. They were afraid they wouldn't make it. Jesus walked out to them and said, "Take courage! It is I. Do not be afraid." The key to finding courage in the face of fear comes through faith in Jesus Christ. Fear and faith do not mix - they're like oil and water. When faith kicks in, fear moves out, and when faith disappears, fear moves in like a tidal wave. The key to finding the courage to overcome fear is faith. I cannot change the way I am,
I never really try, God made me different and unique, I never ask him why. If I appear peculiar, There's nothing I can do, You must accept me as I am, As I've accepted you. God made a casting of each life, Then threw the Mold away, Each child is different from the rest, As night from day. So often we will criticize, The things that others do, But, do you know, they do not think, The same as me and you. So God in all his wisdom, Who knows us all by name, He didn't want us to be bored, That's why we're not the same It was advertised that the devil was going to put his tools up for sale.
On the date of the sale, the tools were placed for public inspection; each tool being marked with its sale price. They were a treacherous lot of implements...Hatred, Envy, Jealousy, Deceit, Lying, Pride, and so on. Laid apart from the rest was a harmless looking tool, well worn and priced very high. "What is the name of this tool?" asked one of the purchasers, pointing to it. That is Discouragement", replied the devil. "Why have you priced it so high?" "Because it is more useful to me than the others. I can pry open and get inside a man's heart with that when I cannot get near him with my other tools. Once I get inside, I can make him do what I choose. It is badly worn because I use it on almost everyone, since very few people know that it belongs to me." My friend, don't let satan discourage you in anyway. You are God's child and have the victory already won. All you have to do is keep your faith on the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Jesus Christ. The devil will not have a chance to discourage you, even with his best tools. Jesus is coming again, He said so, "I will come again" John 14:3. What a promise! What a prophecy! It will be fulfilled!
Another prophecy - In the same chapter Jesus prophesied, "I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever" vs. 16. Did you get that? Not maybe but for sure, FOREVER. More on this later. "But you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you" vs. 17. This is staggering. "Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own" 1 Cor. 6:19. "But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him." Rom. 8:9. That is pretty plain. The Holy Spirit came to take up where Jesus left off. He came to takeover the ministry of God on the earth. Dear people, meditate on this, let it soak in and let the Holy Spirit do in and through you what He came to do. Why do we have the Holy Spirit? "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you" vs. 26. This promise was primarily fulfilled through the lives of the apostles in the writing of the New Testament. "Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God" 1 Cor. 2:12. If you learn anything from these Emails, the Holy Spirit taught you! I am eternally indebted to Dr. Lewis Sperry Chafer, founder of Dallas Seminary for burning this blessed truth into my heart in 1945. The Holy Spirit is the teacher of the things of God. YOU have this teacher in you, if you are born again! Awesome, isn't it? Jesus went up in Acts 1 and the Spirit came down in Acts 2 "He said to them, but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses" Acts 1:7,8. He is the teacher and the power to witness. We have no excuses for not getting in on both! These two prophesies have been fulfilled and so will all the rest of them! Stay with us and let's get in on all of them. Prayer: Father, You are so wonderful. Thank You for sending the Holy Spirit as was prophesied so we can learn and do what you want us to do. In Jesus name. O dear People, let's not forget that God has fulfilled prophecy already in our lives. And I love you, all because the Lord Jesus suffered and died for our sins, paid our debt in full and rose again so we can be forgiven and go to heaven, Sumner. Are you a believer? Receive Him right now. "He that has the Son, has life" "Surely I come quickly. Even so, come Lord Jesus" Rev. 22:20.
Omdat jou VERLEDE nie so belangrik is as jou TOEKOMS nie. So Kyk vorentoe en beweeg aan. 3) Vriendskap is soos 'n BOEK. 5) Ou vriende is soos GOUD! Nuwe vriende is diamante! |
