“In conclusion, my brothers and sisters, fill your minds with those things that are good and that deserve praise…” Phil 4:8
The king James version says whatsoever things are good, pure, holy and worthy of your praise; let your mind be fixed on such. It’s so easy to notice negative stuff from people around you or think about things that let you down; but beloved we need to start focusing on what God has in store for us. Let’s think about things that makes us smile for a change or things that provokes us to love others more! Have a fantastic weekend. Regards, Lindi. “And said, I assure you that unless you change and become like children, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven.” Matt 18:3
Why did Jesus use children as an example? Because children believe anything, they forget and forgive easily and are submissive. We need to die to our flesh and be child-minded in order to enter the pearly gates of Heaven. Regards, Lindiwe. “My people are destroyed because of lack of knowledge” Hosea 4:6
Many of us don’t read the bible and we don’t pray at all; and for this reason our marriages are destroyed, our families are destroyed, our finances are out of shape and our lives are destroyed because we don’t know God’s word and His promises for us. Jesus said if you continue reading the word then you shall know the truth and the truth of the word will set you free! Regards, Lindi. “In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not which one shall prosper either this or that…” Eccl 11:6
The normal way of sowing seed is to give money however everything we do we are sowing a seed; when you are kind to others you are sowing a seed, when you arrive early or leave late at work you are sowing a seed, when you speak positive words to your spouse or loved ones you are a sowing seed. Verse 1 says after many days you shall find it! Therefore do good in the morning and in the evening continue doing good. Regards, Lindi. “When Sanbaliat heard that the Jews had begun rebuilding the wall, he was very angry.” Neh 4:1
There are people who enjoy encouraging others but are not so happy when the very same people succeed in life. One of the strategies of satan is to mock you and if you are not moved by his words of discouragement, he uses people to fight with you in order to distract you from walking into God’s plan and purpose. We need to develop a spirit of discernment so that we know who to talk to. The verse says when Sanbaliat heard that Nehemia was rebuilding the walls of Jericho he was very angry… not everyone is happy when you succeed; remember Moses! Regards, Lindi. “And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin” Heb 9:22
The book of Romans 6 says ‘for the wages of sin is death…’ in the old testament we learn that the penalty of sin was death; people used to offer sacrifices for their sins, the bigger the sin the bigger the sacrifice. However the more they sinned the more far away they were from God. Therefore God wanted reconciliation and He then offered His only Son so that we can walk & fellowship with Him just like Adam did in the garden of Eden. Regards, Lindi. “But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all our sins” 1 John 1:7
The blood of Jesus is able to cleanse us from all our sins and take away the effect of sin; what do I mean? Your sins may be forgiven but sometimes guilt, shame, regret, etc lingers with you so We need to come to the knowledge that the blood cleanses us and sanctifies us. The Levites were cleansed but not sanctified hence they could only enter the tabernacle but not enter into the holy place; only the Priest could enter. The good news is that we can now come boldly into His throne; the blood of Jesus has qualified us! Regards, Lindi. “…He loves us, and by His sacrificial death He has freed us from our sins” Rev 1: 5
The book of Isaiah tells us that Jesus came to set the captives free, to bring good news to the poor, to heal the broken-hearted & comfort those who mourn. Beloved not only did Jesus redeem us but He has also made us Kings and Priests to serve Him! We are free from bondage! “Be obedient to God, and do not allow your lives to be shaped by those desires you had when you were still ignorant” 1 Pet 1:14
Beloved Paul said I put my body (desires) under subjection so that I do not go against my preaching. Emotions are difficult to control nevertheless we are told in this verse that we should choose to obey God and not follow our desires, some desires are not godly at all i.e. lust, greed, etc. we used to submit to those desires before we came into the kingdom of God and now we should allow our lives to be shaped by the word of God. Regards, Lindi. “So keep watch over yourselves and over all the flock which the Holy Spirit has placed in your care. Acts 20:28
Paul called for a meeting and told Shepherds that as he was about to leave wolves will come in to distract them; and that they should be united and care for one another. The flock of God that is under your care will grow and mature only if you as the Leader abide in the word and in prayer without ceasing. Leaders build up yourselves and pray in the Holy Ghost! (Jude 20) Regards, Lindi. |
