"The heavens are telling of the glory of God; and their expanse is declaring the work of His hands." Psalms 19:1
Is heaven all we hope for? Dr. R. G. Lee, a famous preacher of the past, was on his deathbed in a coma when suddenly his eyes opened exclaiming to his daughter, "I see heaven." She said, "Tell me about it." To which Rev. Lee replied, "Oh my sermons never did it justice. I see your mother. I see Jesus. It's so beautiful." One of this century's greatest preachers couldn't do it justice. Human language is simply inadequate to describe it. Standing for instance at the edge of the Grand Canyon and, for a moment, stand in awe of the sight. Walk on a quiet beach and yore in awe of God's creation. But as magnificent as these are, these are nothing compared to heaven. Imagine being in the presence of the King of the Universe and all who follow Him. What a sight that will be! It will be greater than we can hope or imagine. So don't miss out. The ticket for getting there is knowing Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord. Isaiah 41:10
'Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God.' - It is easy to become anxious and worried. - But God wants to tenderly remind us that He is with us. - HE preserves and supports and has the final say regarding your life. - So don't anxiously look about you, but take His hand. PRAYER: Lord, I place my life, my situation and my circumstances in Your hands. I will not be anxious for You are with me. Amen. Isaiah 41:10b 'I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.' - Look at what God undertakes to do for us: 1. Strengthen us. 2. Help us. 3. Uphold us or hold us up. - God has got your best interests at heart. PRAYER: Lord, I receive Your strength, Your help and Your hand to hold me up. Thank You for Your sustaining power in my life. Amen. Solomon summarized earthly pursuits’ so many of us run after. He said that trying to find fulfillment in anything the world has to offer is like chasing the wind. Ecclesiastes 1:14 no matter how hard we try to catch it, it will always evade us. Our purpose and destiny is with God, pursue that. God wants to be found. Mathew 6:33 say that we need to seek God first and then He will add everything else we need.
I keep trying to reach the goal and get the prize for which God called me. Php 3:14
Most of my life I've been a closet slob… Then I got married… I enrolled in a twelve-step program for slobs. ("My name is Max, I hate to vacuum.") A physical therapist helped me rediscover the muscles used for hanging shirts… My nose was reintroduced to the fragrance of Pine Sol… Then came the moment of truth. Denalyn went out of town for a week. Initially I reverted to the old man. I figured I'd be a slob for six days and clean on the seventh. But something strange happened, a curious discomfort. I couldn't relax with dirty dishes in the sink. What had happened to me? Simple. I'd been exposed to a higher standard. Isn't that what has happened with us? … Before Christ our lives were out of control, sloppy, and indulgent. We didn't even know we were slobs until we met him… Suddenly we find ourselves wanting to do good. Go back to the old mess? Are you kidding? In the Grip of Grace (Max Lucado) Come near to God and God will come near to you James 4:8 some of us have tried to have a daily quiet time in vain because we have been too busy with other things. Rather than spending time with God we allow others do that and benefit from their experiences. I would like to challenge you with this thought, in some areas of our lives we do not allow second hand experiences i.e. Eating, our romance etc Why do we allow it with our spiritual lives?
You have been singled out by God, Who has placed His crown of Glory and honor upon your head. Psalm 8:5. Even though the bible says we have been crowned With Gods glory and honor we often do not act that way. One reason is that we do not believe we deserve that. Another reason is that we have not been taught that the blessings of God can be ours. Subsequently we have not activated our faith in this area.
Dale Carnegie said, "You can make more friends in two months by becoming
interested in other people than you can make in two years by trying to get other people interested in you." How do you show you're interested in people? By listening to them, learning about them, and hearing their opinions - by listening rather than talking. To become a good listener, learn to ask good questions. Questions beginning with "Who," "What," "When," and "Where," encourage the other person to talk and give you facts and details. When you ask a "Why" question, you uncover opinions and motivations. To let the other person know you heard them, repeat some of their words back to them in the form of feedback, and ask them clarifying questions about key words they used. Make it your focus this week to listen more than you talk... and you will make friends... by listening. If you are needy you are just the person Jesus died for Luk 5:31 So often we feel we must hide our weaknesses and pretend we are strong or in need of nothing, but that attitude only closes the door to God’s help. He said Ask and it shall be given you Luke 11:9 do not be ashamed of yourself or your needs
