“For the vision is yet for an appointed time...though it tarry, wait for it...” (Habakkuk 2:3, KJV)
God has an appointed time to fulfill the visions, dreams and desires in your heart. Just because it has taken a long time or because you’ve tried and failed doesn’t mean it’s not going to happen. Don’t give up on those dreams! Don’t be complacent about pursuing what God has placed in your heart. Our God is a faithful God. No matter how long it’s been, no matter how impossible things looks, if you’ll stay in faith, your appointed time is coming. Remember, every dream that’s in your heart, every promise that has taken root, God put it in there. And not only that, but He has every intention of bringing it to pass. Hold on to that vision today by declaring, “My time is coming. God is working behind the scenes on my behalf. I will fulfill my destiny!” As you continue to hold on to that vision and speak life over your dreams, you’ll see them begin to take shape. You’ll see your faith grow, you’ll see your hope strengthen, and you’ll see yourself step into the destiny God has prepared for you! Father in heaven, I receive Your truth today. I receive Your promises. I ask that You ignite my heart with Your holy fire so that I can pursue Your perfect plan for my life. Make my thoughts and words agreeable to Your will in Jesus’ name. Amen. Ask, and God will give to you. Search, and you will find. Knock, and the door will open for you. Mat 7:7
Go back and report to John what you hear and see: "The blind receive sight, the lame walk … and the good news is preached to the poor." This was Jesus' answer to John's agonized query from the dungeon of doubt: "Are you the one who was to come, or should we expect someone else?" We don't know how John received Jesus' message, but we can imagine. I like to think of a slight smile coming over his lips as he heard what his Master said. For now he understood. It wasn't that Jesus was silent; it was that John had been listening for the wrong answer. John had been listening for an answer to his earthly problems, while Jesus was busy resolving his heavenly ones. That's worth remembering the next time you hear the silence of God. The Applause of Heaven (Max Lucado) Pray for those who spitefully use you. Luke 6:28
One Sunday morning, D. L. Moody entered a house in Chicago to escort some children to Sunday school. During his visit, three men backed him into a corner and threatened him. “Look here,” Moody said. “Give a fellow a chance to say his prayers, won’t you?” The men actually allowed him to call out to God, and Moody prayed for them so earnestly that they left the room. Had I been in Moody’s situation, I might have called for help or looked for the back door. I’m not sure I would have acted on Jesus’ command to His followers: “Pray for those who mistreat you” (Luke 6:28 NIV). Praying for the people who treat us with contempt is one way to “do good to those who hate [us]” (v.27). Jesus explained that Christians get no credit for swapping acts of kindness with other “nice” people. He said, “Even sinners do the same” (v.33). However, blessing our persecutors (Rom. 12:14) sets us apart from them and aligns us with the Most High, because God is kind even to wicked people (Luke 6:35). Today, if you feel “cornered” by someone, seek safety if the situation calls for it, and follow Jesus’ teaching: Pray for that person (Luke 23:34). Prayer is your best defense. We want to know Your heart, Lord, and have Your wisdom to know how to handle opposition. Give us patience to show kindness. Guide us in every situation, Amen. Returning good for good is human; returning good for evil is divine. This is what the Lord GOD says: I, myself, will search for my sheep and take care of them. Eze 34:11
He's waiting for you. God is standing on the porch of heaven, expectantly hoping, searching the horizon for a glimpse of his child. You're the one God is seeking. God is the waiting Father, the caring Shepherd in search of his lamb. His legs are scratched, his feet are sore, and his eyes are burning. He scales the cliffs and traverses the fields. He explores the caves. He cups his hands to his mouth and calls into the canyon. And the name he calls is yours… The message is simple: God gave up his Son in order to rescue all his sons and daughters. To bring his children home. He's listening for your answer. And the Angels Were Silent (Max Lucado) "Follow Me," Jesus said, "and I will make you a fisher of men" (Matthew 4:19).
This is how Simon Peter's journey with Jesus began — he was given a vision of being something other than what he was. It is also how our journeys begin. Christ saw him not simply as he was, but as he would be. And Jesus committed Himself to making Peter everything he had the potential of becoming. But Peter had to answer the call. And so do you. Peter could have said no. He could have stayed with the nets and the boat and the fish, and followed in the traditions of his father. He could have remained in Capernaum, his home town, and lived out his days in anonymous mediocrity. And so can you. But Peter said yes! And as a result, he not only walked on water—he walked into history! He became a cherished hero to millions of Christ-followers throughout history, who see in Peter so much of themselves. Jesus gave him vision, and this produced a passion that marked Peter throughout his life. His eagerness to impress Jesus, his moodiness when rebuked, his crazy zeal in vowing to be faithful when others fell away — all these and more stem from his deep, abiding passion for Christ. The Lord added to Peter's vision and passion the necessary ingredient of discipline — otherwise Peter would not have gone the distance. He responded to the process of being disciplined, and was therefore not only willing, but able, to take remarkable risks as a faithful follower of Jesus. Vision, passion, discipline and risk. That's how Peter did it. And now it's your turn. As Peter followed Jesus on the path of vision, passion, discipline and risk — and thereby stepped into the pages of history — so you, too, can do the same.k here to edit. Of hulle swaai gebalde vuiste in jou rigting.
Te veel mense is propvol woede. Almal is vir almal kwaad. Almal voel verontreg, ingedoen of verkul. Niemand word genoeg betaal of waardeer nie. Of oor elke korrupte waarvan jy hoor of lees nie. Doen jy net wat reg is voor God. Woon en werk rustig voort soos wat Psalm 37 sê. A life without purpose is barren indeed. There can’t be a harvest unless you plant seeds. There can’t be attainment unless there’s a goal. And man’s but a robot unless there’s a soul. If we send no ships out, no ships will come in, and unless there’s a contest, nobody can win. For games can’t be won unless they are played, and PRAYERS CAN’T BE ANSWERED UNLESS THEY ARE PRAYED! So, whatever is wrong with your life today, you’ll find a solution if you kneel down and pray. Not just for pleasure, enjoyment and health, not just for honors and prestige and wealth. But pray for a purpose to make life worth living. And pray for the joy of unselfish giving. For great is your gladness and rich is your reward, when you make your life’s purpose the choice of the Lord.
a Beutiful relationship does not depend on how good understanding we have with someone. It depends on how well we avoid misunderstanding. So never choose a person without understanding and never loose a person after understanding
Engelse weergawe. The Lords Prayer I cannot pray "OUR," if my faith has no room for others and their need. I cannot pray "FATHER," if I do not demonstrate this relationship to God in my daily living. I cannot pray "WHO ART IN HEAVEN," if all of my interests and pursuits are in earthly things. I cannot pray "HALLOWED BE THY NAME," if I am not striving for God's help to be holy. I cannot pray "THY KINGDOM COME," if I am unwilling to accept God's rule in my life. I cannot pray "THY WILL BE DONE," if I am unwilling or resentful of having it in my life. I cannot pray "IN EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN," unless I am truly ready to give myself to God's service here and now. I cannot pray "GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD," without expending honest effort for it or if I would withhold from my neighbor the bread I receive. I cannot pray "FORGIVE US OUR TRESPASSES AS WE FORGIVE THOSE WHO TRESPASS AGAINST US," if I continue to harbor a grudge against anyone. I cannot pray "LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION," if I deliberately choose to remain in a situation where I am likely to be tempted. I cannot pray "DELIVER US FROM EVIL," if I am not prepared to fight with my life and my prayer. I cannot pray "THINE IS THE KINGDOM," if I am unwilling to obey the King. I cannot pray "THINE IS THE POWER AND THE GLORY," if I am seeking power for myself and my own glory first. I cannot pray 'FOREVER AND EVER," if I am too anxious about each day's affairs. I cannot pray "AMEN," unless I honestly say "Not MY will, but THY will be done, so let it be. "But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your heavenly Father knoweth what things ye have need of before ye ask Him. Matthew 6:7-8 |
