“Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today...the LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still” (Exodus 14:13–14, NIV)
In the Bible, when the people of Israel came out of slavery and were headed toward the Promise Land, they were so happy to be finally free! But then Pharaoh changed his mind about letting them go and came chasing after them. They came to a dead end at the Red Sea and things looked impossible. Instead of staying in faith and focusing on the fact that God had delivered them before, the Israelites got upset, fearful and started complaining, “Moses, why did you bring us out here to die?” Moses replied, “Stand still and you will see the deliverance of the Lord.” He went on to say, “The Lord will fight for you if you hold your peace and remain at rest.” And the Lord was faithful to His Word and delivered them again. Moses knew he had to get the people out of that negative mentality or they would be defeated, and the same is true for you. You may be in a storm of life, but don’t let that storm get in you. Instead, set your focus on God because He is faithful, and He will fight your battles. Stay calm and remain in peace today because God is going to deliver you and lead you into your promise land! Thank You for Your goodness and faithfulness in my life. Help me keep my heart and mind focused on You. No matter what storm I may be facing, I trust that You are working behind the scenes and ordering my steps to the promise land you have for me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen. His followers went to him and woke him, saying, "Lord, save us! We will drown!" Jesus answered, "Why are you afraid?" Mat 8:25-26 Read this verse: "Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, 'Truly you are the Son of God'" (Mat 14:33 NIV). After the storm, [the disciples] worshiped him. They had never, as a group, done that before. Never. Check it out. Open your Bible. Search for a time when the disciples corporately praised him. You won't find it. You won't find them worshiping when he heals the leper. Forgives the adulteress. Preaches to the masses. They were willing to follow. Willing to leave family. Willing to cast out demons. Willing to be in the army. But only after the incident on the sea did they worship him. Why? Simple. This time they were the ones who were saved. In the Eye of the Storm (Max Lucado) Luke 1:37
With God nothing is ever impossible and no word from God shall be without power or impossible of fulfillment. - We should never doubt God. - Unbelief and doubt robs us of our ability to trust Him. - God will do what He said He will do. - With God, nothing is impossible! PRAYER: Lord, I trust You and I know that nothing is impossible with You. Amen. Declare with me: Jesus I will not be anxious and troubled with the cares of this world and my life because I know that I am valuable to You and that You will take care of me I Claim the promise you give in Luke 12:22-24 and am therefor not anxious in Jesus Name Amen
Live life to the fullest. True and honest, begin with yourself and extend it to others. Use your words wisely. Words have power and create influence, do not spread them carelessly. Negative words create negative energy and repel those around you. Live in the positive.
Leave your 'stamp' on everything you do. Make yourself an icon to be admired and respected. Become an inspiration to others-so think carefully before you speak and act. Every action, every word carries a consequence. Create a genuineness about you that is addictive to all those who meet you. And finally, leave a mark on those you meet that couldn't have been left if you weren't in their lives. Have patience with all things, but chiefly have patience with yourself. Do not lose courage in considering your own imperfections but instantly set about remedying them ... every day begin the task anew.
~ Saint Francis de Sales Everything you want is out there waiting for you to ask. Everything you want also wants you. But you have to take action to get it.
~Jack Canfield Author, Chicken Soup for the Soul "Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise - the fruit of our lips that confess His name. And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased." (Hebrews 13:15,16)
Gratitude urges you to be good to others, but how do I good to God for everything He did for me through Jesus Christ? Listen to what our verse for the day teaches: bring sacrifices. Continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise. With my mouth I celebrate His name and praise Him for his greatness, grace and involvement in my life, because I am in Christ. Using words from my mouth, I witness to others that He is the one and everlasting God that loved people so much that He gave his Son to set them free. A sacrifice implies that something should die for a specific purpose. I deem it necessary to often kill my own will, sluggishness, fears and pride so that He might receive an unspoiled, pure sacrifice from my lips. But then the realization: the core and acceptance of my sacrifice has its roots in Jesus' sacrifice - his life! It's only by Him, in Him, with Him and to Him that I can bring an acceptable sacrifice of praise to God. The second sacrifice that is acceptable to God, is good deeds and sharing what we have with others - even if nobody else knows. Our thankfulness for the Lord's grace and blessing in our lives, should make us fall over our own feet to share with people despite how much we have. The church in Macedonia for instance, gave generously to others, despite their own extreme poverty. What was the fruit of their sharing and giving? It provided in other's needs; it overflowed in many expressions of thanks and praise to God and prayers were offered for those who rendered this service. (2 Corinthians 9:12-14). Prayer: Giver of all good gifts, I praise you that I am Your child and that You enrich my life with so much grace and blessings. Thank you that I am able to bless others with everything that I daily receive from Your hand. Amen "...I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Matthew 28:20
Some feel it in a crowd; others feel it when alone. Sociologists say that never before in history have so many people lived so close together and felt so far apart. Loneliness is a major problem. There's no doubt that singles bars are filled with people battling loneliness. You can still be alone but not lonely. A person will never find victory over loneliness until he learns to enjoy being alone. At the root of all loneliness is alienation from God. Years ago, a man named Augustine espoused that God has made us for Himself. Our soul is restless until we find rest in Him. We may seek to fill the void with activities, crowds, and noise, but a nagging loneliness will always be there until we have a personal relationship with God. When we find that, we have found the key to being alone, but not lonely. |
