When the Spirit of God truly comes upon a person that person will be changed. 1 Samuel 10:6 tells us that Saul would be “turned into another man” meaning he would be so changed that people think he is someone else. The most important evidence of a Spirit filled life are a change of character and the development of the fruit of the Holy Spirit as described in Galatians 5:22-23. God fills people to enable them to live a holy life and live for Him. Stand up for Jesus and live for Him today.
"It is one of the most beautiful compensations of this life that no man can sincerely try to help another without helping himself." ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
"Leadership is a series of behaviors rather than a role for heroes." ~ Margaret Wheatley "No matter how much work you can do, no matter how engaging your personality may be, you will not advance far in business if you cannot work through others." ~ John Craig "If you would win a man to your cause, first convince him that you are his sincere friend." ~ Abraham Lincoln All You Can
Do all the good you can, In all the ways you can, To all the souls you can, In every place you can, At all the times you can, With all the zeal you can, As long as ever you can. ~ John Wesley Imagine that I dump 10,000 plastic eggs in your back yard. I assure you that inside one of those hollow eggs is a check for $1 Million dollars with your name on it. Would you get discouraged if you opened the first 100 eggs without finding the check? How about the first 1000 eggs? Of course not! You'd just keep opening those eggs, just waiting for the moment when you'd find the check.
Paul knew the meaning of the word "suffering." He had been beaten, stoned, imprisoned, shipwrecked, starved, and rejected. And yet Paul said that his sufferings were nothing compared to the glory that would come. In other words, Paul had opened a lot of empty eggs, but he never gave up or got discouraged. He believed that something great was in his future - God's glory revealed in him. Perhaps it feels to you as if your life has been nothing but empty eggs. You've already opened 9,900 of them and you're not sure you've got the will to go on. Let me encourage you today. Don't give up. I don't want to trivialize the challenges you are facing, but I do want to help you put them into perspective. They are only temporary, and God has something much greater in store for you. Compared to the glory that will be revealed in us one day, our suffering doesn't merit discouragement. Hang on. Don't give up. Keep going. One day God will replace your discouragement with incomparable glory! "I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed to us." Romans 8:18 Author Unknown "Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD swept the sea back by a strong east wind all night and turned the sea into dry land, so the waters were divided." - Exodus 14:21 NIV
We all have times when we feel we have no options. Maybe we're in a job crisis and we feel there is just no way out. Sometimes we don't have a job, money is rapidly running out, and we're beginning to feel despair. Sometimes it's in a marriage that seems hopeless. There are many possible scenarios, but they all have this in common: It seems like we've run out of options and we don't know what to do. We feel trapped in a hopeless situation with no possible way out. We can learn how to face these crises by remembering the children of Israel. They faced a stormy sea to the front and Egyptian soldiers to the rear. Talk about having no options...they truly had no way out! But, if you'll remember, God led them from desperation to complete victory. Realize that the same God who parted the Red Sea is standing beside you whenever you think you're out of options. There is no lasting defeat for children of God; He always gives us the option of allowing Him to lead us, teach us, and build our faith. If He parted the Red Sea for the people of faith, then through faith, no situation is hopeless Kosbare mens jy is nie net n liggie nie jy is deel van die vuur van God, nie net n drupel nie maar n fontein wat lewe gee, nie net a veer nie maar deel van n arend. Jou glimlag is soos die van n engel en jou hart is van Goud. Ek dra jou aan die Here op en sit jou aan sy voete neer. In Jesus Naam Amen.
We cannot overcome any difficult situation by determination of the flesh alone. Zechariah 4:6 teaches us to be determined in the Holy Spirit not in the efforts of the flesh.
The Holy Spirit was sent to us to be our helper therefore seek Him in your time of need. You will not be able to make it on your own. Give ear and hear my voice, listen and hear my words." Isaiah 28:23
Have you ever noticed how noise fills our lives? We wake to music or alarms. We get in the car and what's the first thing we do--turn on the radio or slip in a CD. When we walk into the house or a hotel room, the first thing we do is turn on the TV. It seems that, with noise, we just don't feel so alone. In the midst of all of this noise, are you missing the most important voice of all? God still speaks in a still, small voice. In the busyness and noisiness of our lives, it's easy to miss Him. The only way to hear Him is to make an intentional effort to quiet the noise of our lives and spend some time listening, through prayer and reading His Word. Find some time each day to be alone and quiet, and listen to the most important voice of all. It will enrich your life tremendously. I am a soldier in the army of my God.
The Lord Jesus Christ is my Commanding Officer. The Holy Bible is my code of conduct. Faith, Prayer, and the Word are my weapons of Warfare. I have been taught by the Holy Spirit, ...trained by experience, ...tried by adversity, ...and tested by fire. I am a volunteer in this army, and I am enlisted for eternity. I will either retire in this Army or die in this Army; But, I will not get out, ...sell out ...be talked out ...or pushed out. I am faithful, reliable, capable, and dependable. If my God needs, me, I am there. I am a soldier. I am not a baby. I do not need to be pampered, ...petted, ...primed up, ...pumped up, ...picked up, ...or pepped up. I am a soldier. No one has to call me, ...remind me, ...write me, ...visit me, ...entice me, ...or lure me. I am a soldier. I am not a wimp. I am in place, ...saluting my King, ...obeying His orders, ...praising His name, ...and building His Kingdom! No one has to send me flowers, gifts, food, cards, candy, or give me handouts. I do not need to be cuddled, cradled, cared for, or catered to. I am committed. I cannot have my feelings hurt bad enough to turn me around. I cannot be discouraged enough to turn me aside. I cannot lose enough to cause me to quit. When Jesus called me into this Army, I had nothing. If I end up with nothing, I will still come out even. I will win. My God will supply all my needs. I am more than a conqueror. I will always triumph. I can do all things through Christ. Devils cannot defeat me. People cannot disillusion me. Weather cannot weary me. Sickness cannot stop me. Battles cannot beat me. Money cannot buy me. Governments cannot silence me, and Hell cannot handle me! I am a soldier. Even death cannot destroy me. For when my Commander calls me from this battlefield, He will promote me to a captain. I am a soldier, in the Army, I'm marching, claiming victory. I will not give up. I will not turn around. I am a soldier, marching, Heaven bound. Here I stand! Will you stand with me? "All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness." 2 Timothy 3:16
What is your ultimate authority for making important decisions? Is it your knowledge? Intuition? Your experience? Is it people you want to please? Is it contemporary culture? Is it a church, or certain spiritual leader? Take God's Word. God has created us for a purpose. He knows how you work best. The way He speaks through His written Word, and it is perfectly true. It applies to every age, race, and nation. The Bible is clear on some things like murder, stealing, adultery, and forgiveness. When it doesn't speak to a specific issue--like which mutual funds to invest in, whom to marry etc…, it gives perfect principles we need to know in order to make the best decisions--those that are pleasing to God. So try reading it. Start with the New Testament. Ask God to speak to you through His Word. When it comes to living well, God's Word knows best. |
