“You received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba Father.” (Romans 8:15)
We were not sons and daughters to start with; we were like street urchins, grimy with sin, all our unrighteousness like filthy rags draped around us, homeless and destitute…but then:
“Come now and let us reason together, says the Lord. Although your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow, though they be red as crimson, they shall be as wool.” (Isaiah 1”18)
God adopted us like His own children, washed us clean, dressed us in robes of righteousness, and gave us the immense privilege of calling Him ‘Father’. We have been adopted into His family and warmly invited to sit at the royal table.
But, there are a few house rules…but we’ll get to that in due time.
Father, keep me and those around me safe today. Please keep a watch over my mouth that I may not sin against You in Jesus’ name…amen
