“The man of integrity walks securely, but he who takes crooked paths will be found out.” – Proverbs 10:9
Integrity is from the Latin Integritas, meaning “soundness, purity,” and also from integer, “whole, complete.” It means steadfast adherence to a moral or ethical code, and also the condition of being sound and complete. When integrity is present, a person’s thoughts, words and actions are all in alignment with each other. Integrity is essential if relationships are to be strong. Both in business and in personal life, integrity is one of the most highly valued character qualities. A word related to integrity is the word “integration,” which means, “to make one.” Its opposite is “disintegration,” which can be thought of as the state of “dis” integrity. In this sate people “go to pieces,” relationships “fall apart,” trust is “broken.” Without integrity, life and relationships are fractured, unsound, and incomplete. People hurt one another, whether they mean to or not. People deceive and are deceived. It’s a devastating way to live. We seek wholeness, completeness, soundness. And we don’t like to be fooled or to misplace our trust. If we’ve been harmed by untrustworthy people, we all the more want relationships of integrity. Life is complicated enough without having to deal with people who are two-faced and duplicitous. When someone says they’ll do something, we want them to simply do what they said they would do. BENEFITS WHEN INTEGRITY GROWS · Life gets simpler, and stress decreases Time and effort don’t have to be wasted in hiding motives and covering tracks Less injury is done to others We can be more devoted to positive things rather than to recovering from the negatives of deceit Teamwork and progress improves “Character is what you are in the dark.” – Dwight L. Moody “People may doubt what you say, but they will always believe what you do.” – Anonymous After Moses died, the law allowed the Israelites thirty days to mourn. After those days were completed, God told Joshua it was time for him to take his new position, Joshua 1:2. It was time to start moving towards new things. Joshua would miss Moses, but he knew he had to obey God and move on. There is a proper time for mourning these things that we have lost or that have come to an end. But ultimately we must make a choice to start living and making progress again. We all have a past, but thank God we all have a future, and according to Jeremiah 29:11 it’s a future that He promises to be an abundant life
New things also seem frightening, but soon they will become old things, and God will have another new thing on the horizon of our lives. We need to grow accustomed to stepping out into new ventures. The more we do, the more we realise we do not have to be comfortable to be obedient. When God reminded Joshua that Moses was dead, he was encouraging him to press on towards the future Do not be afraid to release and walk away from what God is finished with; He has new and wonderful things for you-Go with him A minister parked his car in a no-parking zone in a large city because he was short of time and couldn't find a space with a meter. Then he put a note under the windshield wiper that read: "I have circled the block 10 times. If I don't park here, I'll miss my appointment. Forgive us our trespasses." When he returned, he found a citation from a police officer along with this note "I've circled this block for 10 years. If I don't give you a ticket I'll lose my job. Lead us not into temptation."
Let, through The Blood of Jesus, there be no unrighteousness in me
Whether it be in thought, word or deed, from such let me be freed Let there be no spirit in me, besides the Spirit of Christ, and His Spirit all see. Let there be none ungodly, like spirit of unforgiveness or other spirits that are common to see. Let my spirit be led by God's Spirit in me, let possessed by Him I be Let, through The Blood of Jesus, there be no unrighteousness in me Whether it be in thought, word or deed, from such let me be freed Let there be no spirit in me, besides the Spirit of Christ, and His Spirit all see. To the King that rules forever, who will never die, who cannot be seen, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. 1Ti 1:17 The whole purpose of coming before the King is to praise him, to live in recognition of his splendor. Praise—lifting up our heart and hands, exulting with our voices, singing his praises—is the occupation of those who dwell in the kingdom. Praise is the highest occupation of any being. What happens when we praise the Father? We reestablish the proper chain of command; we recognize that the King is on the throne and that he has saved his people. Walking with the Savior (Max Lucado) God I am trusting in , leaning on and relying on You, trusting You at all times. You are a fortress and high tower for me! Adapted Psalm 62:8. Don’t only believe God when things go well but live from faith to faith Rom1:17 the more stable we become in Christ the more can His ability be released through us. Pursue God He is the answer.
A General and his chief aide, a handsome young Lieutenant, were traveling across the US on a civilian train. Sharing their compartment was a lovely young lady and her elderly grandmother.
At one point during the trip the train entered a long dark tunnel. Everyone was silent as the train sped through the darkness. Then two distinct sounds were heard The first was a long romantic kiss, and the second was a loud resounding slap. When the train exited the tunnel into daylight, the four passengers each had a different idea about what had just occurred. The young lady thought, "How nice of that handsome young Lieutenant to kiss me, but why would my grandmother slap him?” The grandmother thought, "How dare that young man kiss my granddaughter; but how proud I am that she slapped him!” The General thought, "That was a bold move the young Lieutenant made in kissing that lovely young lady, but why did she slap me?” The Lieutenant thought, "My, oh, my! What a day! First, I kissed a lovely young lady, then I slapped my General — and I got away with doing both!” Now that's what I'd call "making the most of every opportunity!" Hi, This is St. Peter's Place, may I help you?
Yes, I am in a big hurry, I have some place to go. I will take an instant healing, and 3 blessings please. The next customer comes through, saying: I need for my marriage to be healed, I don't have time to work on it, or pray, so could you just give me the marriage blessing, and fix it please? The next customer is equally unaware when saying: I need the blessing my neighbor has, could you help me win the lottery? I am going on vacation next week and could use the extra money. People lining up with the greatest intentions, the least faith, and almost no relationship with God, yet expecting instant gratification when they pray. Suddenly God is the "fix it" man. We do not have to do anything on our part, it is all His job. While I was watching a famous newscaster tonight, He was talking about his concept of God. A God who would forgive everyone, because He was merciful. A God who never got angry, who never judged, but only loved people. A God who never did a trial after we die, but fulfills nebulous needs while we are alive. A God we don't need to have a dedicated or holy, righteous relationship with. A God of convenience. A God of people's own making to suit whatever lifestyle they choose to live. This is not the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. This is what the world is saying nowadays. Oh I will take the God that never judges, so I can sleep with everyone in town, or smoke and drink or do drugs, but God will still love me. I will never have to confess or change, because God is merciful. A drive through God. Where do people come up with this stuff? My friends, this is why we have a Bible. 1. It tells us who God is. 2. It tells us what He expects from us. 3. It tells what happens to those who disobey. 4. It tells how to find salvation through Jesus Christ. The Bible says Jesus is the truth, the life, and the way, there is no other way to God, except through redemption in Jesus Christ. This means we have to be proactive. We have to: 1. Recognize we are a sinner in need of salvation. 2. Recognize Jesus died for those sins, and to receive His salvation we must take certain steps. 3. Confess our sins to God, every one we can remember, then we make a public confession of that faith. 4. When we repent of our sins, it means we leave them behind, we walk away from them, we get into the word, and live as Jesus taught. We make a conscious effort to change, and ask God to help us change the things we cannot, so we can be right before Him. Forgiven, renewed by the blood of the Lamb of God. There is no other way! We cannot pick and choose the parts of the Bible we like or don't like or agree with or don't agree with. We cannot tell God who to be, or what His laws and concepts should be. It is like this. We must accept Him for who He is, we must live righteously before Him, by accepting His son, and repenting of our sins, and then walking right by reading His word, praying and living a holy life. Anything else, is straying from the truth. You can make up all the thoughts about God you want, the newscaster can justify his lifestyle by being in denial about God, the person who has strong addictions will deny God to justify his sin. The person steeped in sexual sin or perversion will try to justify a kind, all loving God, to leave out any part of the scripture that might convict them of sins. Sin is a reality. God is not only a merciful God, but a God of judgment. The drive through thing won't work. If you want a relationship with God, there is one way. The right way, through Jesus Christ. Any other way leads to eternal death. Now that you have been told, there is no excuse. Pass this to others, so they may know that there is no excuse that will stand before God's all knowing judgment and wisdom. He sees all, knows all, knows every where you have been, every thought you have had, every deed you have done. Everything that is done in darkness will be bought into light. Where you will stand in that light? There is only one way. You either choose life or death by your decisions. "To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven." Ecclesiastes 3:1
A car cannot stay in first gear – unless it really isn't going anywhere anyway. And neither can we. You've got to make a shift in order to move upward and onward into the high calling of your life's noble purpose. God has placed eternity in your heart, and earthbound dreams simply cannot satisfy you any longer. It's time you learn how to handle life's surprising turns without stripping your gears. Sometimes to shift us, God has to sift us. His purpose is to remove the chaff, and to reveal the gold. Webster's defines shift as "changing the place, position, or direction of something." Have you experienced any shift lately? A shift in place, in position, or in direction? If so, how are you handling it? Are you blowing a gasket, or going with the flow? The wisest man who ever lived, Solomon, wrote, "To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven." In other words, shift happens. The issue is how we respond when it comes. The un-shifted life is untested, and therefore unproven. As such it is unreliable. And for that reason it is often unnoticed and unused. Life is change, and to refuse to change is to refuse to grow. Sometimes the change is welcomed, other times it is not – but either way, it comes at us without discrimination and requires that we respond in positive, proactive, and purposeful ways. Those who do so grow stronger, better, wiser, and richer. Those who refuse to embrace change not only fail in life, ultimately they perish. If we will not shift when God is moving us to do so, if we will not change our ways, then our only alternative is to become shiftless – people who are lacking in resourcefulness, ambition, or incentive. "Moab has always taken it easy," the Lord said to Jeremiah, "lazy as a dog in the sun; never had to work for a living, never faced any trouble, never had to grow up, never once worked up a sweat. But those days are a thing of the past; I'll put him to work at hard labour. That will wake him up to the world of hard knocks. That will smash his illusions" (Jeremiah 48:11-12, The Message). This seems to describe so many in our society today, especially those who have grown up pampered in the freedom that was purchased and provided by the hardship and heartbreak of others. We must take heed that we do not take for granted the liberty and abundance of life we as a nation have so richly enjoyed, lest we unexpectedly lose what we so carelessly hold. There have been numerous nations throughout history who regarded themselves as invincible until they fell from grace. We would be great fools to think it could not happen to us. “As God’s representative on the earth, He has given us the authority to speak for Him. When we speak under the leading of the Holy Spirit, we speak as His voice on the earth. During strategic times, the Lord will prompt us to pray prayers that will bring breakthrough.” Barbara Wentroble |
